The Beach Bum

A beach bum and a young man sit by a fire as the bum regales tales of the sea. With each story, a piece of the bum's identity and the lessons he has endured are revealed, ultimately inspiring the young man to take action. Through tales of talking seagulls, a sea witch, and rowdy sailors, a tableau of addiction is built, providing answers for the unlikely duo at the fire.

The Beach Bum is heavily inspired by the styles of Bossa Nova and Classical music. Highlights include a Bossa Barbershop Quartet, an orchestral pit featuring many guitars, and an ethereal Sea Witch that inspires some experimental orchestration techniques.
